Gillows Furniture Archive
Gillows of Lancaster were the leading makers of Furniture in the late 18th and 19th centuries. From their premises in Lancaster they produced items of furniture to the highest standard, often stamped with their famous “Gillows Lancaster” stamp. Gillows supplied the great country houses of England from top to bottom- recording nearly all their designs in their “Gillows Sketch Books”. In the 19th century , they produced amazing individual items involving the great designers of the time, for the Great Exhibitions. Gillows key to success was the outstanding quality of craftsmanship which they applied to each piece, as well as their use of the finest timbers and veneers.
We have bought and sold some of the fiest pieces of Gillows furniture over the last 18 years and we are always searching for individual items.
