Description / Expertise

African mahogany extendable dining table, strung with Holly and Ebony, by Edward Barnsley, England circa 1956.
Made by the craftemen Herbert Upton, George Taylor, Leal Wyatt and Oscar Dawson.
Pedestals with 4 octagonal turned columns joining a quadripartite base joined by an “X” stretcher, on chamfered down swept legs and bun feet.
Measures: 296 cm wide ( 400 cm wide with inset leaves ) x 122 cm deep x 73 cm high.

Prov; Designed for the private dining room of the Appleby Frodingham steel works, Scunthorpe, 1956.
